Night was nothing new to Shaurya Singh Rathore. Sleep wasn't, either because sleep... wasn't mad Wee for men like him.
What normal people had peace, routine, rest these things he had lost long ago. Ever since that night, his nights had been wide awake and his days had been colder than death. He didn't even remember the last time he closed his eyes without seeing blood.
But tonight, something else kept him awake something small and ridiculous. Something he should've forgotten the moment he picked it up.
A jhumka.
He sat on the edge of his bed, elbows resting on his knees, muscles tense under the dim light of his room. His face was emotionless as always... but his mind was not. He didn't understand why this tiny, jingling thing had stayed in his thoughts. Why it kept returning to his mind when nothing else ever did. Why the shadow of a woman dancing behind a freaking curtain still replayed itself in the corners of his consciousness.
He clenched his jaw, irritated at himself.
Why the hell am I thinking about this?
I didn't care about people's feelings so why I was caring about something that wasn't even alive?
With a sharp exhale, Shaurya grabbed his phone and dialed the one number.
The phone answered instantly by one of top member of his dark world
Meet Arjun Parihar the man who kept the empire from collapsing when chaos knocked at the door. As the Caporegime of their syndicate, Arjun wasn't just another name in the hierarchy he was the one who made things happen. From managing high-risk operations to handling sensitive deals that couldn't afford a single mistake, he carried it all with a level of precision that most men could only pretend to have.
He had that effortless, dangerous charm that girls drool over him Tall, well-built muscular body, with a sharp jawline and intense dark brown eyes that seemed to read people before they even spoke. There was nothing loud about him, nothing exaggerated but the moment he walked into a room, attention followed. He doesn't like people around him so much . Arjun had a mind wired for strategy and a temperament balanced perfectly between patience and brutality. He knew when to wait, when to strike, and more importantly how to finish what he started. His decisions were quick, his actions cleaner, and his loyalty to Shaurya is unquestionable.
Of course, perfection is imperfect infront of him .
"Yes, sir?"
Shaurya didn't look at the jhumka, but its presence pressed into his mind anyway. "I need a box," he said, in low, calm, lethal voice.
"A box sir?" Arjun sounded confused. "But for what?"
Shaurya's eyes flicked toward the nightstand where the jhumka lay, glinting softly as if it had its own heartbeat.
"For a jhumka," he said flatly.
There was a full three seconds of stunned silence on the other end. "Sir did you just-"
"Arjun," Shaurya's tone dropped, deadly cold as ice, "I don't repeat myself."
Arjun immediately straightened.
"Yes, sir. I'll arrange the best one by morning."
He leaned against the headboard, staring at the ceiling and said " i want with in 50 min"
" Ok sir I'll arranged it"
"Arjun," he said, with low voice, "what about that drug dealer who thinks he can sell under our nose?"
Arjun stiffened immediately. "Sir, I was about to tell yo-"
Shaurya's eyes lifted slowly, "Why wouldn't you?"the tone wasn't loud.
But it could slit a throat without touching a weapon.
Arjun said with emotionless tone . "Sorry, sir. We tracked the location. We found where the distribution is happening but__"
Shaurya's jaw tightened. "What but, Arjun?"
Arjun hesitated which was rare.
"Sir--- the location is a hospital."
Shaurya's expression didn't change, but the temperature in the room dropped a degree. "Which hospital?" he asked quietly.
Arjun took a breath. "Sakshi Hospital, sir."
He paused. The next words came slower.
"The information came from inside. Someone working there."
Shaurya leaned forward, elbows on his knees.his thought ' this all things is happening in our hospital and who the hell i didnt know about it maybe because I m not focusing on the hospital because of .....' he asked
"Who?"
Arjun finally said it.
"A Neurologist."
Arjun continued carefully, "We don't have his name yet. But the sources say he's using therapy sessions as a cover. He brings patients in, prescribes things they don't need sells the real stuff behind the scenes."
Shaurya's lips curved into something that wasn't quite a smirk , a predator's promise.
"A doctor," he murmured. "Playing dealer dealer."his voice was smooth as silk and twice as dangerous.
"Wasn't it intresting and Bold."
Arjun nod from another side and said . "Yes, sir."
Shaurya stood slowly, slipping his hands into his pockets the jhumka still inside his plam.
"We will go there tomorrow," he said, eyes darkening.
"No one deals in my city without bleeding for it special not under my area."
His gaze drifted briefly to the jhumka, though he didn't take it out. "And no one hides under a mask of purity," he added softly.
Arjun asked in cold tone. "Should I prepare the men, sir?"
Shaurya's smile was razor thin.
"Yes," he replied.
"And Arjun...?"
"Yes, sir?"
"If a doctor is involved..."
He rolled his shoulders, stretching the stiffness from his neck.
"...I want him delivered to my basement. Alive."
"Understood, sir." he cut the call.
"Hospital" he murmured.
A place he usually avoided.
In study room (at night)
Shaurya Singh Rathore sat in his study like a king on his throne unreadable, untouchable. Files of illegal routes, weapon deals, and names that could end lives were spread across the table.
Ember lay beside him, silent but alert like a predator resting beside a bigger one.
The only sound in the room was the faint rustle of paper until it stopped.
Outside the study, a maid stood frozen. She didn't dare step inside.
Didn't dare breathe too loudly.
Her hands trembled as she tried to speak.
"Si-sir... a-act-"
Shaurya didn't lift his head. His eyes shifted slightly a cold, deathly glance cutting through the distance like a blade.
It hit her instantly. Her throat went dry ,words died.
"What?" he said, in cold low tone . "Speak."
Silence.
A biggest mistake done by poor maid because it's waste his time .His fingers tightened over the file. In the next second, it slammed shut with a sharp sound that echoed across the room.
"I said fucking speak," his voice rose controlled anger laced with threat. "Or I'll show you what hell looks like."
The maid flinched, almost losing her balance."S-sorry si-"
"I don't need your freaking sorry," he snapped, finally standing.
And that was worse because when Shaurya stood, dead stood with him.
"Say. Why. You're. Here." Each word was slow. Measured, dangerous.
The maid immediately bowed her head, voice breaking,
"D-Dadi Saa is calling you downstairs, sir..."
The moment she finished, she stepped back like her life depended on it because ofcourse it did.
She turned and rushed away, not daring to look back because in this mansion, everyone knew if Shaurya Rathore lost patience you and your life didn't get a second chance.
Inside, silence returned. Ember lifted its head slightly, watching him. Shaurya adjusted his cufflinks, expression going blank again, as if nothing had happened. Shaurya's gaze shifted toward Ember.
Ember looked at him as same as expression as his dad but the beast didn't react. As if whatever had happened a moment ago was beneath both of them.
A faint smirk touched Shaurya's lips.
"Let's go, Ember," he said, voice calm but edged with authority. "Let's see what Dadi wants now."
Ember rose instantly, falling into step beside him silent, lethal. They walk out of the room. The moment Shaurya stepped out of his study, the atmosphere of the mansion changed.
(Accha suno chapter ko vote kardo and don't forget to comment)
Servants lowered their eyes. Footsteps slowed and there breaths were held as if a single breath sound and they dead . Because he was walking the dead is walking itself it's feel like Yamraj send a devil and his beast who didn't think twice in eating by tearing them apart.
Tall, broad-shouldered, Built like devil itself had taken human form. Every step he took was slow, controlled the kind that didn't rush because the world already moved for him.
His hazel-blue eyes held no warmth. Only dominance. Eyes that had seen only see blood, loss and had learned to feel nothing after it.
And beside him walked Ember. Not just an animal but a warning. Its heavy paws hit the marble floor in a measured rhythm, eyes scanning everything, daring anyone to come closer.
He lift his glaze and looked at Dadi Saa who was sitting in the centre of couch, her posture regal as always.
Beside her sat Bade Papa, watching silently.
Dadi Saa looked up, her sharp eyes meeting his without fear.
"Come here Shaurya," she said. "Sit."
He didn't argue just walked forward, Ember stopped just behind him like a good son , and took his seat exactly where she pointed.
Silence stretched between them. Then Dadi Saa spoke. "You want the throne," she said calmly. "The entire mafia network, the business routes, full control."
Shaurya didn't reply. He just stared back at her without blinking.
A silent challenge passed between them. Then she continued.
"I will give you everything."
A pause.
"But before that..." her voice hardened slightly, "you know the rules of this family."
Shaurya's jaw tightened, just a fraction.
"No one takes the throne... until they marry." The words settled like a command carved in stone.
"Get married," Dadi Saa said firmly.
"Then everything you want... will be yours." His eyes stayed locked on Dadi Saa sharp, deadly cold, dangerous. Then slowly he leaned back into the couch.
A faint, humorless smirk appeared on his lips. "Marriage?" he repeated in low and almost amused tone.
But there was no amusement in his eyes. "Is that supposed to be a condition? Dadi saa " he asked, tilting his head slightly.
Dadi Saa said "It's not a condition. It's a rule."
His fingers tapped once on the armrest ,the only sign of the storm rising inside him. "I built this empire after that night," he said quietly.
"Every route every deal every man out there answers to me."
His gaze hardened.
"And now you're telling me... I need a wife to claim what's already mine? Isn't it wrong dadi saa and don't forget I m C.M of this UP"
Bade Papa shifted slightly, sensing the tension thickening.
"Yes," she said. "Because power without balance destroys. And this family doesn't raise destroyers."
A cold laugh escaped Shaurya.
"Too late for that, Dadi Saa ," he said, voice dropping darker. "There are already many and I m one of them or say just more dangerous than them"
Ember let out a low growl, sensing the shift in his energy.
Shaurya stood up.
Dadi said from behind" So she will improve you "
"I don't believe in this shit and I definitely don't marry anyone just to satisfy traditions." His eyes burn with no emotion.
"You want to keep the throne?" he added, stepping closer, voice calm again but lethal.
"Keep it."
A pause,"But don't expect me to beg for something I already control."
Dadi saa give him a look that this is what she expect from him then she spoke again, softer this time, but firmer. "You may control the streets, Shaurya," she said.
"But you don't control this family.
For a second , just a second something flickered in his eyes his jaw tightened he turned followed by Ember but just before leaving he stopped without looking back, he said, "I'm not getting married."
"You will." Dadi Saa's voice cut through the air like a command.
He stopped but didn't turn , "Don't test me, Shaurya," she continued, calmly but dangerous in a way only she could be.
"I have the power to throw you out of this house and this empire too."
Silence crashed into the room Shaurya turned back. His face as always emotionless ,his eyes darkened. Because he knew she wasn't bluffing she never do .
This wasn't the streets of UP.
This wasn't his men.
This wasn't a rival he could eliminate.
This was family power and even he couldn't break that not yet.
A muscle in his jaw twitched.
A cold breath left his lips. "Do whatever you want," he said finally, voice flat stripped of all emotion.
A pause then "But don't expect anything from my side."
The words sounded as like a warning.
Like a man agreeing but already planning how to break the rules. Dadi Saa didn't reply.
Silence broke between them when bade papa speak " Shaurya tumhare aur Arjun ke beech kuch chal toh nhi raha hai na "
Shaurya shift his glaze at bade papa dadi saa to before he could say anything this bade papa speak again" I mean that u both are vo __hmmmmm " he signed
Shaurya said in irritation " Papa let's get straight to the point, what are you saying hmm hmm?"
Bade papa take a deep breath and said " kya tum donon Gay ho aur ek dusre Se pyar karte Ho .if yes then tell us beta we are very broad minded Ham usme bhi khush h no need to shy beta"
(Are you both boy lovers and love each other?)
Shaurya looked him in disbelief " What the fuck are u saying bade papa, I said that i will not get married so u think that i am " he looked here there trying to speak " Gay me "
"My foot "
A voice came behind " I m totally staight bade papa , but i don't know about sir " they three looked behind at the door found Arjun was standing he walked inside and placed the box at table"your box sir"
He dead glare at Arjun Shaurya grab the box and walked towards stairs dadi saa and babe papa speak together" jewellery box for what "
He said without turning " not your all business"then walked away along with Ember with him before leaving he shouted " Arjun come upstair"
